This page is full of my 'leftover' stuff. For now I'm just going to add the main things that I really didn't have room for on the main page but still deserve mention. This will also be the page where I add random stuff later. There are probably a million things I could put in here, but I've got more urgent stuff to do right now. The first thing I included in this section is my collection of e-mails that I wrote to my friends back home while in Japan. I called these e-mails Jay's Juicy Japan Junk, which is where I got the name for this website. They were all written in the first four months of my stay, at which point I gave up on trying to write such long e-mails to my friends. However, those first four months were the most important for me in forming my initial opinions about Japan and my new surroundings, and probably reveal much more of my amazement and wonder of Japan than anything I would have later written. The next thing in here might possibly have deserved its own link from the main page, because it was where I spent almost all of my time while in Japan: the wonderful city of Fukuoka, voted the number one city in Asia several years running in Asiaweek magazine. I've mainly just got some pictures in here, as well as a little information about this very nice city. Next, I felt it just wouldn't be right to leave out the story about my hitchhiking experience. It involves one daring young man's journey (well, actually it's my journey and it wasn't all that daring... after all, this is Japan we're talking about here) from Fukuoka to Tokyo along the national highway, and his numerous wacky encounters along the way. Also, along with my hitchhiking adventure, I've included the story of my cross-country trek on the slow trains from Kyushu to Hokkaido, as well as information about the ticket that allowed me to do it dirt cheap. Also, I figured it would be worth my while putting stuff here about me playing soccer in Japan, as well as a bit of information on the popularity of the sport over there. Finally, I have tons of pictures of Japanese matsuri (festivals), hanami (cherry blossoms), and a hanabikai (fireworks display) I attended in Kumamoto, which I've all put into one section called festivals. That's all I'm going to include for now, but in the future I may add some other stuff to this section.
